Tournament Information

For the last 33 years, Clacton-on-Sea in Essex has played host to Women's Soccer. The format has always been football and fun. Each year, up to 24 teams compete in each of the two weekend events. The Essex 'Sunshine Coast' is ideal for a long weekend break with its beaches and vibrant nightlife.

This year is no different and our famous tournaments take place on;-

  • 8th - 11th June 2012 - The Keith Sloggett Memorial Cup and The Den Morris Memorial Cup
  • 15th - 18th June 2012 - The Albert Whitelaw Memorial Cup & The Magnificent Sevens

Schedule

Memorial Cup Events are held in June of each year and attract Women's Clubs from all over the country. Each had a maximum entry of 24 teams and will provide each entrant playing at least 8 matches over the two days.

The fun begins on the Friday night, with Team Karaoke from 9pm! THERE ARE INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM SECTIONS FOR KARAOKE!

On Saturday, teams play in a series of qualifying matches to determine grouping for the Sunday 'A' and 'B' Finals. The top 3 teams in each group moving forward to the 'A' Finals and the remainder to the 'B' Finals.

Matches are all played on grass pitch and qualified referees officiate throughout. Each match is 2 x 10 minute halves and 3 substitutions are permitted each match. All Clubs must be affiliated to a County F.A.

Entry is solely by invitation and open to only those in residence. Ken Jones (Physio) is available daily for treatment of injuries. There will be a £1 donation to charity for each visit to Ken!

All teams stay on one site, Seawick Holiday Village, where there is plenty of entertainment each night. The bar stays open until around 2am.
